Do female sex offenders present special issues and problems?
This new piece at CorrectionsOne, titled "Female sex offenders: A new phenomena?," prompts the question in the title of this post. Here are snippets from the article:
The majority of sex offender research pertains to male offenders. However, in recent years some big cases have called attention to a "new phenomenon" — the female sex offender. The media is responsible for much of the hype, primarily because many of the perpetrators have been attractive school teachers....
According to a 2006 report by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, women commit less than 10 percent of prosecuted sex crimes in the U.S. Females represent only one percent of arrests for forcible rape and about six percent for other sex crimes.
While adult female sex offender rates have not increased, research shows that female juvenile sexual offenses are on the rise. Between 1997 and 2002, juvenile cases with girls as the offender rose 62 percent for violent sex offenses and 42 percent for non-violent sex offenses.
This new population of offenders presents a different set of challenges for police, corrections officers and treatment providers.
Gender and cultural stereotypes can impact how the criminal justice system handles female sex offenders. For instance, the notion that adolescent males must "conquer" women to gain social status undermines and minimizes the detrimental impact that female sex offenders can have on their victims. Further, far too few mental health professionals specialize in handling female sex offender.
By virtue of their gender, female sex offenders are often seen as non-threatening. Meanwhile, because of societal stereotypes, male victims are given conquest status when they have sex with an older female. Not only can this undermine the tragic results of victimization, it can lead to under reporting of the crime.
The research on female sex offenders is minimal at best. In order to better understand and treat this growing population, academics and practitioners alike must expand this field. Treatment options for female sex offenders must be explored as well as reasons why the offending behavior began in the first place.

The 10% figure is probably influenced by the fact that the victims are less likely to report the crimes for a variety of reasons.

This is hypocrite, lying, feminist lawyers trying to appear fair and even handed. We are not persecuting heterosexual males. No, we prosecute sex abuse even when done by females.
If victimization of a 15 year old lasts a year, that is not victimization, that is a relationship. And as to that bad faith, lying lawyer pretext of lack of ability to consent? Try making the brat do his homework. See if anyone can make him do something he does not want to.

Aren't crimes supposed to cause a harm? If an act causes great pleasure and satisfaction, about which one will brag to one's pals, can it be a crime? Only to a sour faced, hypocrite, lying feminist lawyer.
Try criticizing a welfare clogging 15 year old girl spawning future criminal after future criminal, each with a different father, you get called a racist, a sexist. You lose your job if in a government position.

Clear memories of life as an adolescent male make it impossible for me to view willing older women as sex offenders.
The only possible victims as far as I can tell are moms of got-lucky adolescent males...moms who have no idea of what adolescent males are really like.

The reality is that female adult/male child sexual relations are a lot less likely to have the serious consequences that male adult/female child sexual relations have.

One of the features of "autism" is poor social skill. This criminalized relationship is likely to be therapeutic. I am not saying the sexee has autism, since the diagnosis is overused or entirely bogus.

The function of Levitra (Buy generic Levitra) is similar to that of Viagra, but in many cases the former is more effective. It can be taken with or without meals. It has nothing to do with sexually transmitted diseases. It never protects against such diseases.

Making treatment with Avodart recommends both a decline in prostate size and lasting symptom development for up to 4 years. The smaller prostate gives less pressure on the urethra, which tends to treat inconvenient urinary symptoms.

This society is biased and only considers male as sexual demons. The root cause of most male sexual predation is because sometime during their childhood they were being raped, molested and/or abused by female sexual predators in form of teacher, aunt, elder sister or babysitter. The kids silently swallowed the phisical and mental torture because of fear or knowing the fact that family , society, police or even the court would not come forward to help them.
Do not we see this as bigger crime here? In one way we are allowing all these female sexual offenders to live free for further crimes to our kids as well as degrading the minds of young boys to become future offenders.
The judicial system will do nothing if the society does not come forward and express this as a serious issue to encounter now before it is too late..
I want to start a group to help these kids come forward and get these bastard females in prison.
if there already exists a group please forward me the same at email@example.com

Since time immemorial, a guy's penis has been the power symbol of masculinity and power. Most gals prefer men with a bigger manhood since a bigger, longer and thicker shaft is said to be able to reach a woman's most pleasurable area
