Thoughtful clemency commentary
Professor Sherry Colb has this thoughtful and wide-ranging commentary at Findlaw.com about capital clemency; it is focused primarily on Clarence Ray Allen's unsuccessful request for clemency from Gov. More background on the Allen case can be found here and here, and a lot more clemency discussion can be found at this category archive.
