SCOTUS fun: Name that Justice!
With Supreme Court previews and forecasts are all the rage, I found this piece about a particular Justice very interesting. Without clicking through to the link, see if you can name the Justice with this personal background:
[He] was a zealous prosecutor, passionately anti-Communist, pro-business, anti-New Deal, anti-gambling, anti-pornography, tough on crime..., and he favored interning California's Japanese and their American-born children after Pearl Harbor.... [H]e was a dedicated husband and father of six, an avid hunter, camper and hiker, a Mason, a passionate baseball and football fan and a regular churchgoer....
Reading just a brief account of this Justice's pre-SCOTUS personal history confirms my instinct to place very little stock in most predictions (and assertions) about who Justices are and what they are likely to decide.
