Some sentencing news that's fit to print
The New York Times has these two interesting sentencing pieces worth reviewing with your morning coffee:
- Spotlighting another possible case of capital injustice, this article reviews the seemingly shaky case against Troy A. Davis who is scheduled to be executed by the state of georgia on Tuesday.
- Providing a little legal history lesson, this piece highlights that "bribery has often been thought of as a crime that could harm the state — thus worthy of extreme punishment" and reviews the "long and bloody history" of severe sanctions for bride-taking.
