AP reports on high-profile federal sentencings

Two very different high-profile federal sentencings are in the news this week, and here are the latest AP reports on both:

I do not think I am going out on a limb when I predict that Jose Padilla is likely to get a much longer prison term than Marion Jones.

No limb at all. I think we are about to see multiple new lines of sentencing "standards" that will have much lighter sentences for white collar criminals. It will be interesting to see if any decernible pattern emerges from the decisions in a year or two.
