Not-quite-random mid-day blogger/tech comment

Jobsx-wide-community It has taken me only a few minutes to decide that I now want and need an iPad, though I am fearful (or perhaps hopeful) that the new Apple gizmo will be much better for reading blogs than for writing them.

Also, I am also already thinking about whether an iPad and other forthcoming like technologies might alter the resource and technology universe for lawyers, law professors and law students.

I have never tried to do any kind of legal research or legal writing on my Droid smartphone, and I suspect that there are relatively few smartphone apps that are truly helpful to the average lawyer or law student.  In addition, I have been disappointed by the potential for my first-generation Kindle to be a means or medium for me to do professional reading of cases and other legal materials.  The Apple folks are touting the iPad as having some of the best aspects of modern e-readers and modern netbooks.  If this is true, I can readily imagine the possibility of an iPad with applications that are especially lawyer-friendly and lawyer-useful.

Thoughts, dear readers?  Is anyone (other than me) eager to read this blog on an iPad?

A good smartphone calendar (that syncs) is invaluable, and I know a buncha lawyers that have used their phones to take notes from files in court (you can buy a folding keyboard for Palms). I also have had the FRCrP and Title 18 on my Palm in the olden days. Never used that much tho...

Oh, and you can always use the calculator function to determine that your client, at the present rate of payment, will pay off your fee in...

2035. ;)

My first thoughts on the iPad are that it seems like a big iPhone that you (a) can't make calls on, and (b) can't put in your pants unless you are MC Hammer.

Of course you need it!!!

The scary thing is that I was looking for an iPad note/comment on your website and was pleased, and not surprised, when I saw this!

Also, check out the MacLawyer who, like the Marshall Tucker Band, is from Spartanburg, SC!

I do not live in Ohio but promise Ohioans that you will not drive a vehicle and ipad in any sort of multitasking mode.

You don't need it Doug.

I promise, mpb, not to iPading and drive at least until March, which is apparently when the iPad will be available for sale.

And, Alex, you are surely right that I do not need an iPad, but I am also getting more and more sure that I will want an iPad.

This free Blio reading software for tablets (or regular computers) has some handy annotation capabilities (easier than on pdfs; don't know what comes on the iPad)...

It’s great to see good information being shared and also to see fresh, creative ideas that have never been done before.

I appreciate the concern which is been rose. The things need to be sorted out because it is about the individual but it can be with everyone.

This conversation is going no where. It’s lacking the place of a
good leader to head the things to come out on conclusion.
I am waiting for ur quick positive reply.
Have a nice day, It is very helpful to know about different historical tourist places all the world. Thank you for providing such useful informations.
