"Sensenbrenner Named House Crime Subcommittee Chair"

The title of this post come from the headline of this report via The Crime Report.  Here are the details of an important sentencing law and policy echo of the new leadership in the US House of Representatives:

Representative Jim Sensenbrenner, a Wisconsin Republican, today was named chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on crime, terrorism, and homeland security. Sensenbrenner, 67, is a former chairman of the full Judiciary Committee.  On the subcommittee, he succeeds Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Va.).

Sensenbrenner will bring a much more conservative perspective to criminal justice issues.  He supports the death penalty and was the prime sponsor of the federal Adam Walsh Act, which requires states to take stronger actions tracking sex offenders or risk losing federal funds.

Welcome in Heinrich Himmler. The Nazi Party is shaping up quite nicely!

"Welcome in Heinrich Himmler. The Nazi Party is shaping up quite nicely!"

Every now and again I think the Democrats can take their wipeout by the voters with good grace, and might even learn something from it, and then I see something like this.

Yes, Bill, as Book38 goes, so surely go "the Democrats." (And if only the Democrats had the grace of the Republicans...)

Michael Drake --

I said at the time, on Crime and Consequences, that Wilson's interruption of the SOTU speech was rude and out of place.

Do you agree with Book38 that Rep. Sennsenbrenner is the second coming of Heinrich Himmler? Do you agree that the Republicans are Nazis? Or do you think a charge like that is unadulterated rubbish?

First it was that Bush was in on 9-11. Then it was that Sarah Palin was the real mother of her daughter's out-of-wedlock child. Have you denounced either of those calumnies? Where was that?

The present evidence is that you take umbrage only at me, not the people making those accusations, nor Book38 for making his.

Personally i think he's just a dumb redneck without enough brains to pour piss out of a boot that has the directions on the heel.

this right here tells me that!

"the prime sponsor of the federal Adam Walsh Act,"

Considering it's ILLEGAL retroactive requiremts he could and SHOULD be considered a traitor eligible for legal execution by any american who wishes to do so.

GIven Obama's antics during a Bush SOTU, I'd say that Rep. Wilson's outburst wasn't as bad as it looked, and neither Obama nor his supporters have any business complaining.

"Do you agree with Book38...?"

No. Do you agree that some dude who posts pseudonymously on a comment thread isn't a fair proxy for "the Democrats"?

Excuse me gentlemen, but I AM a registered Republican and have been all my life. This does, however, help prove my point that party follows party!!!!!!

This country was founded on the principle of "Individual" freedom. It matters not what party the candidate you desire to be in office is part of. We only have ONE purpose for putting these people into office, and that's to run our government. That ONE purpose is to adhere to the "United States Constitution" AND to legislate according to the FREEDOM that the "Bill of Rights" gives to "WE THE PEOPLE". BUT, today's politician's legislate to "How many votes can I get if I put push this law on the citizens!

Real American's don't care what party the politician's are from. What we want are representatives that look out for OUR RIGHTS and preserve OUR LIBERTIES.

Michael Drake - my using a pseudonym is an aspect of free speech protected by the First Amendment. It never matters what one calls themselves. It matters what they say.

Bill Otis - You certainly are a credit to your party. Summarizing the issue without knowing all the facts. Woooo Hooo....Go Elephants!!!!!

Rodsmith - You seem to be the only one here who has a grasp of how a problem like Sesenbrenner can turn our country upside down/inside out yet again.

Lastly: to any politician's and/or justice of the supreme court who reads this...."Suck my butt"!!!!!!

Michael Drake --

Actually, I think he's a fair proxy for a snarky head case. See his post immediately above.

Book38 --

Michael Drake never said that you don't have a right to use a pseudonym; your reference to the First Amendment is a dodge and a diversion, even if the First Amendment were applicable to a privately owned blog, which it is not. The point, which you evade, is that EXERCISING that right while falsely calling a member of Congress a Nazi is cowardly.

Now that's FUNNY. As if a member of congress couldn't pick up a phone and in 4 mins know the Names, Addresses and Entire life history of every who's ever even VISITED this blog or any other is just TOO FUNNY!
