"Madoff says he is happier in prison than free"

The title of this post is the headline of this news report discussing a recent interview of Bernie Madoff from prison.  Here is how the piece starts:

Financial swindler Bernard Madoff said that he is happier in prison than he was on the outside because he no longer lives in fear of being arrested and knows he will die in prison, TV journalist Barbara Walters said on Thursday.

Walters, who spent two hours at the prison with Madoff two weeks ago, also told ABC's "Good Morning America" program that Madoff said that while he had contemplated suicide during his early days behind bars, he lacked the courage and never thinks about killing himself now.

Madoff is serving a 150-year prison term for bilking investors out of billions of dollars in a decades-long Ponzi scheme that is considered the biggest financial fraud in U.S. history.

What a life, happier behind bars than when he was Free....Wow, a ton of pressure has been relieved from him, but its hard to imagine being happier in the cross bar hotel than free....Bill this guy deserved what he got...He directly hurt a lot of elderly folks that needed that hard earned money and they most likely cannot recover from the loss...The means to earn money is exhausted.....That thought scares me, as the world we live in does take money
to get by....If one has their health and some money the world is pretty much theres....A lot out there these days..

How can one continue on with his little scam, knowing hes taking from all of those good people...What took their entire life to get....and do it with their trust in mind......That is a very evil act......To meet with them, get to know them, (thought he already did know some) shake their hand, talk and smile as if
your a sincere buisiness man...Then send them false statements, till his scam blowsup....Very difficult to think thru a person doing that....
Mean while he is living like a king off their money....Maybe that is why he is happier now than then....Realization and no pressure....

This story continues to get more and more ludicrous. Here's my take on the latest activities of the Madoff clan: http://dasteepsspeaks.blogspot.com/2011/10/made-off-with-millions.html
